A fusion of the sea with the cosmos, where the light color variations appear as stars within the flowing blue.
The high-contrast white background against the vivid, multi-toned blues is key to the ethereal effect. The white radiates light and appears to be the substance that the blue form is interacting with, perhaps even consuming or being created. Within the blue texture like glimmering highlights or reflections, making the blue seem translucent and lit from within. This internal luminescence is the hallmark of an otherworldly or spectral being.
The seahorse evolves from pure, swirling water and light. The intense, deep blues at the core of the body and the curled tail quickly dissipate into a frothy white and lighter cyan as the shape extends. The creature is actively forming out of the ocean or dissolving back into it. The edges of the seahorse are scattered, cell-like patterns of color and white; a spiritual existence rather than physical.
The acrylic pour itself creates a sense of uncontrolled, vibrant energy, Within the seahorse's shape, the paint forms lacing and cells—tiny, bubble-like structures—that look like they are caught in a powerful current. The dramatic, tightly coiled tail acts as a vortex or epicenter, from which the blue energy seems to explode outward. The creature feels suspended in a dynamic, possibly zero-gravity environment, like a nebula in space rather than a creature in the sea.
A moment of vibrant, transient energy, the seahorse is caught between existence and oblivion, giving it the delicate, ghost-like beauty that makes it truly ethereal.
This piece is a 15" x 30" abstract acrylic work that looks good on any wall surface given its bright and mystic colors.
